What Are Hemorrhoids?

0

Hemorrhoids, otherwise known as piles can be a rather embarrassing and also a very painful condition. Occurring around the anus and back passage of the body, blood vessels that have swollen and enlarged form due to increased pressure.

Pregnant women and the elderly are the most at risk of getting hemorrhoids.

Two types of hemorrhoids generally occur. The first type, internal hemorrhoids are actually the most common. Internal hemorrhoids form inside the anus. External hemorrhoids which are also known as piles usually form around the Anus on the outside of the body. The external hemorrhoids are not as common.

The internal hemorrhoids are ranked with a system that scores them from grade 1 to grade 4. Grade four internal hemorrhoids are the most painful and also the least common. Grade one hemorrhoids are the ones inside the body that cannot be seen from outside the body. Grade four are the worst and the piles can be seen outside the body.

While there are many symptoms associated with hemorrhoids the first one that people tend to notice is an itchy feeling around the anus. As the hemorrhoids get worse the itchy sensation can get much worse, pain will ensue and eventually the anus will bleed.

Having hemorrhoids may seem like a very serious medical condition. It can be easily treated though if it is caught early. If ignored hemorrhoids can become a serious health challenge.

Although this may seem like a very serious condition, it is one that is very easily treated and if sorted out properly and as soon as they are noticed, do not lead to other and more serious health problems.
