There are many traditions done at wedding receptions, one of the being the bride dancing with her father after she has united with the groom. This is a symbolization of the father’s final “goodbye” to his daughter, giving room for her new husband. There are many different songs that have been used for weddings, and wedding receptions. Wedding bands are a big asset to a wedding. Some good choices consist of “In My Father’s Eyes” by Martina McBride and “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle. Music has a big influence on the mood of the atmosphere. It plays a role in the attitude of the guests.

During the reception of a wedding, it’s a great idea to keep music playing. The guests love a live band performing while they enjoy food and fellowship with one another. Music sets in different kinds of “moods”, so to speak. The bride and groom should choose plenty of songs to be played that mean something to them.

Comedic wedding songs are a great entertainment to guests’, as well. Not only does it enlighten the mood, but it makes them feel more at home and comfortable. A couple of suggestions for this type of music would be “Anything You Can Do, (I Can Do Better), and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”.

Romantic songs are, of course, another typical choice for a wedding reception. Having family friends sing on a raised stage is a great idea for “wedding bands”. Also, getting an actual band to perform would be another good idea. Nothing with the feel of “Rock N Roll”, though. This is a celebrating between the bride and her groom. Attention should be on them.

Slow tempo songs are good selections as well. These songs in particular keep the guests soothed, quiet, peaceful, etc. To list a few “sweet” songs; “From This Moment” by Shania Twain, “When God Made You” by Newsong, and “Lucky” by Jason Mraz. These are just a few of the many possible choices.

A very different idea that doesn’t occur much in wedding receptions is to play hard rock music. If this is the bride and groom’s personality, then go for it! The day of your wedding is suppose to be just as you imagined it when you were little. If you imagined hard rock music, then hard rock it is! There are a variety of rock songs that would go perfectly for newlyweds. If rock music is what makes the bride and groom most comfortable, then go for it! Get to looking to find the perfect rock songs!

An additional suggestion is to go without music during your wedding and or wedding reception. This is a very rare decision, but many people enjoy peace and quiet over music. Choose whatever feels right to you. If having a wedding band is not suitable for your ideal wedding, then go without one. Make this celebration the best it can be, and do this by making it your own, and unique!

Keep the development of the wedding, wedding reception, and music all under your own influence. Talk to the groom-to-be and choose plenty of songs that would be suitable for your wedding. If you choose not to go with music, keep it all entertaining! Whatever you end up going with, make it your own!
