Ok i want to learn to play the fiddle/violin people say that the fiddle is a whole diffrent insterment but yet some people say that its a violin its just played diffrent.

Ok so i live in Lakeland, Florida and i just seem to NOT be finding any teachers! Their usually in Tampa or Port Charlotte (that is thats all i’ve found) and i dont want to go that far just for a half hour lesson. Anyway if any of yall know any good bluegrass fiddle teachers let me know cause i would love to learn. Thanx everyone!
I’m homeschooled and i’m not in a band or anyhing. So i wouldnt be able to ask my band director for anyone who gives lessons.

If your school has any orchestra or band of some kind then the teachers could give you lessons. That’s how I found my teacher. You could also go to local music stores?

The fiddle and violin are the same thing people just call them in different ways. And they are also played the same way.

You’ll love the violin I play it too and it relaxes you so much! It is also very fun.

The Violin and Fiddle are the exact same instrument, some just call it different names. You should also look into playing the Viola, it is a little bigger than the violin, and has a deeper tone.

I’m pretty sure that fiddle and violin are the same thing just played different. And I have no clue where you would find any music teachers cause I live on the other side of the country. But if you run out of luck with finding one there’s always the option of teaching yourself if you really want to learn, you might find that you have a natural gift! And theres always books and the internet too.

Yep, the same instrument.

The difference is in the “attitude”…

A fiddle is the nickname given to the violin, by the bluegrass/country guys

They have “Fiddlin’ ” contests all over the country, thru the summer.

I’ve never heard of a “Violin” contest, at a bluegrass event.
