You can list yourself as a teacher on a site called. I dont know if they charge to be a part of their site or not. I used them to find a piano teacher and it was free for me to search. It’s pretty cool. You can also place ads in Craigslist, but you have to continuously add them in order to get top placement.
Good luck!!

First of all you need to get your name out there. Design your own website. Great free sites include freewebs.com and geocities. Don’t forget to call local music stores who sell instruments to let them know you are accepting students.
Join professional teacher groups in your area…..Music Teachers National Assoc: , National Guild of Piano Teachers: , and espcially any organizations in your city. Some of these professional organizations offer student referrals. This is a great way to acquire students.
Advertising in a local paper may be another idea. The smaller the newspaper the better. (Here we have a paper that’s just for our town, not the entire city.)
If there aer kids in your neighborhood, stuff newspaper boxes with flyers.
Join Yahoo! piano teachers group!

Good luck to you! I am a piano teacher of 19 years. Currently with 52 students. 40 of my own and 12 with an apprentice teacher.
