So what is the one thing that stops folks from practicing? Apathy. Many people stop practicing the piano just because it’s no longer fun. Their desire to learn having been worn down from hour on hour of the same exercises.

How do you stop getting bored of practicing? You make piano fun!

Here’s some proposals to get you moving.

New Pieces Songs

One of the most significant reasons students stop practicing piano is that they get bored of playing the same songs again and again. So your first activity is to get a new song to learn and practice.

This can give you new fervour, something fresh and adds rather more variety to your lessons. Try and pick something that is in a different style from what you are already practicing.

Change The Tempo

Speed has a huge impact on how a song sounds. Changing the speed can make a classical piece sound more like a show tune, or turn a funky style tune into jazzy lounge song.

Go over your song again and this time start to play it slower or faster. How does it sound?

Play around with the beat and timing, place emphasis on differing notes. You may find out exactly how straightforward and fun it is to fully change the way a song feels.

Get Faster and Faster

If you are becoming bored of practicing the same piece, its time to turn up The speed. Begin at an ordinary pace and see how swiftly you can play your piece.

Don’t stop if you make a mistake, keep pushing ahead and see if you can finish it.

When you do, try it again and see how fast you can go without making a mistake. When you bring it back to normal speed, you’ll realize how much more easy it seems to play it now.
