There has been much question about where the song Michael Jackson Dirty Diana originated. Some alluded that it was about Diana Ross and others thought it could be a reference to the late Princess Diana, who told him personally that it was her favorite song. Some alluded that it was based upon an allege affair with Diana O’Neal, a close friend of the singer.

The fact of the matter is that it was sung about all the female groupies that used to hang around The Jackson 5 in their early days. Often these women were found loitering backstage. They would be prepared to do whatever it takes, just to get near to their favorite performer. Some would even go as far as to have sex with the entourage in order to achieve this.

This song was one of the songs that were on the Bad Album. Quincy Jones produced the song and it was considered a hard rock track. It was co produced, composed and written by Michael Jackson. The key used to play the song on the piano is G Minor. It plays at one hundred and four beats per minute on a guitar or piano. This is considered moderate. Bb3 to G5 is the vocal range. 1987 was the year it made the Billboard Hot Hundred.

The song was well received by the critics. Commercially it was a huge success in the year nineteen ninety-eight. This success was not limited to America as virtually the entire world raved about this song. France, New Zealand and Italy were some of the countries that it hit the top ten charts. After the death of the artist in 2009, it made it back onto the charts. Plenty sales of this song happened via digital download. The song was filmed and performed live during the Bad World Tour and it was directed by Joe Pytka.

The music video is seven minutes long. During the performance, the singer is dressed in black pants with metal rims and a white coat. The video also has close ups of the singer performing and at one point, there are only blue lights as the only light source against a dark background. Much dancing forms part of this video, as is the case with most of his performances.

The choreographer of the concerts in two thousand and nine and two thousand and ten, Kenny Ortega announced that the song would be performed at these concerts. Sadly, this was never to materialize as the megastar died in two thousand and nine. The scene was set for a pole dancer to lure the star onto a steel bed. This was done out of respect Once Princess Diana told Michael Jackson that this was in fact her favorite song he then added the song back into the set list.

Billy idols former guitarist Steve Stevens was appointed to do the track backing. Being a solo artist this was Michael Jackson’s second hard rock song. The song was also classed as a hard rock ballad.

Michael Jackson Collectibles Dirty Diana was released in 1988, on the Bad album. “Dirty Diana” was generally well received by contemporary music critics. “Dirty Diana” has a moderate tempo and is played in the key of G Minor.
