Some remarkable movies start out just to be a motion picture and they are authored as a script. Other eminent films are adapted from some of the best books. The question becomes can a movie complement your mind when you read the book? There are a couple of exciting adaptations for the year 2009.

“My Sister’s Keeper” was released in June of 2009. Based on the volume of the same name by Jodi Picoult, it follows the troubles of a family unit with a ill adolescent, who conceived another child due to in-vitro fertilization in order to have a genetic match to keep the first child living. The motion picture is a sincere tearjerker, still the distorted finish in the motion picture will dishearten everyone who has read the book.

In theaters in August 2009, is “The Time Traveler’s Wife” from the popular work of fiction by Audrey Niffenegger. Starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, it is a passionate chronicle that follows the life of a man who travels through time and his marriage to his soul mate.

Another movie from the summer of 2009 was based upon two books, “Julie and Julia: 365 days, 524 recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen” by Julie Powell and “My Life in France” by the great chef Julia Childs and Alex Prud-homme. “Julie and Julia” is a magnificent comedy about the lives of these 2 women.

“Taking Woodstock” is based upon the memoir of Elliot Tibor, a young gay man who unintentionally helped to make the most legendary rock concert in history come alive, The Woodstock Music and Arts Festival from 1969. Based upon the story of the same name, the film is directed by Ang Lee.

From one of the most humorous and funniest kid’s books to come out in years, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” will hit theaters in September 2009. It will star Anna Faris, James Caan, and from Saturday Night Live, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Tracy Morgan and others. The book was amusing; lets hope the motion picture lives up to it.

October 2009 will bring us another memorable children’s story. Like the book of the same name “Where the Wild Things Are” will follow the adventures of Max, who imagines that he sails away to the location where all of the wild things wander.

A couple of more solemn films will hit the theaters in 2009. “The Road” will come out in October 2009. It will star Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. It is based upon the Pulitzer prize winning and famous work of fiction by Cormac McCarthy. The story follows a father and son and their voyage in post apocalyptic times. In December 2009, “The Lovely Bones” from the story of the same name by Alice Sebold arrives in theaters. This is a tear-jerker account about a young girl who was murdered and how she watches over her family unit from heaven.

And there you have just a few of the motion pictures adaptations that are coming out in 2009. If you are the sort who wants to read the book before seeing the movie, now is your chance.
