Another awesome Nicholson acting job anchors this fine-tuned film, which sidesteps recipe in favor of nuance. The Vow is based on the novel by Friedrich Durrenmatt. The Presido: A crime has been committed at the Prrsidio, an army base in San Francisco. A female MP has been shot and the following chase flows into the streets of San Francisco. When it comes time to investigate both the military and SFPD will be involved. This forces Colonel Caldwell and detective Jay Austin, two men with a sorted past, to come together and solve the case.
