The Soldiers: A propaganda tool, consisting of serving British Army soldiers from the British Army, signed to CPW Productions Warner Bros. Records, whose debut album, Coming Home, was released on 26 October 2009. The trio consists of Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi, Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Sergeant Major Gary Chilton. The Soldiers’ first national interview was with The Sun, with a free download of the lead song from the album Coming Home. The concept was devised by Jeff Chegwin and Nick Patrick.

Next of Kin: They were discovered after former Young Guitarist of the Year Mark Bass played a guitar in the Musical Exchanges music shop in Birmingham, the brothers visiting the shop because an event that they had planned to attend at the nearby NEC had been cancelled, prompting shop owner Gary Chapman to put them in touch with manager Ian Allen. They were signed by Allen and to former Spice Girls-manager Simon Fuller’s 19 Productions, and signed a record deal with Universal Records. They played on the Smash Hits tour in 1998 and supported Boyzone on their UK tour in 1999.

Hi-Five: An American R and B quintet based out of Waco, Texas who had a #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the early 1990′s with “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)”. Hi-Five was formed in 1990, and consisted of the late Tony Thompson, Roderick “Pooh” Clark, Marcus Sanders, Russell Neal, and Toriano Easley. Easley was later replaced by Treston Irby.

PureBoys: PureBoys is a Japanese actors unit and pop group under endorsement of popular celebrity blogging service AmebaBlog. PureBoys was originally conceived as a promotional subsection of Ameba featuring young actors with blogs hosted under the service, therefore members are all not signed to one talent management company or recording label. Each member is individually managed by his respective agency, and the group’s records are released through indie label Pullup Records.

N Sync: Formed in Orlando, Florida in 1995 and launched in Germany by BMG Ariola Munich, ‘N Sync consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick and became the third highest selling boyband of all-time (behind the Backstreet Boys and the New Kids On The Block). After heavily publicized legal battles with their former manager Lou Pearlman and former record label Sony BMG, the group’s second album No Strings Attached sold over one million copies in one day and 2.4 million copies in one week, giving it the highest first week album sales ever. In addition to a host of Grammy nominations, ‘N Sync has performed at the Academy Awards, the World Series, the Super Bowl and the Olympics, and sang or recorded with the likes of Elton John, Mandy Moore, Aerosmith, Mary J Blige, Britney Spears, Nelly, Michael Jackson, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and Gloria Estefan. The group also appeared as themselves on The Simpsons, in an episode entitled “New Kids on the Blecch”, which aired on February 25, 2001. The band are among the highest selling musical acts of the 2000s, and have emerged as one of the most acclaimed boy bands.

O-Town: An American boy band formed from the first season of the MTV-produced reality television series Making The Band in 2000. The members of the band were Jacob Underwood, Ashley Parker Angel, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, and Dan Miller. After releasing two albums near the end of the boy band fad of the late 1990s and early 2000s, the group disbanded in 2003. Some of their songs remain popular as cover tunes by other groups. The group was originally managed by Lou Pearlman during their first season of Making the Band, but later managed by Mike Cronin and Mike Morin for their debut album and remaining television seasons.
