Are there any music teachers who can give me some pointers on how to play the electric guitar?

my husband plays guitar.. and he learned on his own.
Absolutely. There are a lot of music teachers who can give you pointers on how to play the guitar. Go find one. Then ask him.
I think you would enjoy music lessons. Go find a teacher. Many music stores have a musician who gives lessons in a back room of the store. ASK
My advice is that you try to play it well.
Seriously, you need to be more specific than that if you want a sensible answer.
Listen to Santana for a while, get a guitar, an amp, and a cord. Then check websites for guitar…..tabulature, lessons, and videos. Get an effects pedal after you learn the basics.
