Tiny, made on a shoestring, although acute and well recognized; excellent cast contains a number of genuine-life musicians. Sleepy Hollow: It is the year 1779, and a young policeman from New York has been sent off to the small town of Sleep Hollow to investigate the disturbing deaths of three men, who were found with their heads chopped off, and the heads all missing. There is a legend of an axe carrying, headless horseman that roams the woods of Sleepy Hollow. Does he really exist?

The Net: Angela Bennett is a computer geek. She receives a program, and is asked to de-bug it. Shortly after receiving the program, the man who sent it to her is killed. What’s on the disc is of vital importance to someone. They know she has it, and she is now running for her life as she tries to figure out just who is after her, and why.

Bellissima: Obvious drama in reference to pushy, pitying mom Magnani, infatuated to the point of hysteria with getting her cute, compliant little girl into films. No Name on the Bullet: A calm and cultured gunman rides into a little town to take somebody out. This film carries a simple and classic Western plot. Agnes of God: A youthful nun evidently became pregnant, then killed the baby in the cloistered environment of a convent. The court assigned psychiatrist finds no simple answers. Upsetting, not unconditionally pleasing, although electrified by 3 brilliant performances, and beautifully photographed by Sven Nykvist. Cast includes Jane Fonda, Anne Bancroft, Meg Tilly, Anne Pitoniak, Winston Reckert, and Gratien Gelinas. (98 minutes,’85)
